BUYING PROPERTY IN THE US?

Hi, can anybody tell me if there are any restrictions on buying property on a H1B visa?

Thanks,

The visa has nothing to do with it.

Your credit score is the only thing that probably matters.

We did it on H1b but had a tough time findiing someone who would accept our UK credit rating. THe concept of us not having one here just would not seem to register, no matter how slowly and how many times it was repeated "Weeee arrrrrre frrrrrrrrrom anotherrrrrrrrrrrrr countreeeeeeeee"
"Fine - no problem -let's feed it all into the computer. Oh. There seems to be a problem. Itis not accepting you because of the credit rating :curse::curse::curse:

There are no restrictions..I just bought 19,000 acres near Fairplay Colorado with virtually no questions asked..One thing about these bloody Yanks- They'll take anybodies money.

Unless you mint it yourself, what's the problem?

No. We had it all sorted out before we left the UK.
Our relocation company gave us contacts at various places and I chose the one who had some understanding of mortgages/ house buying in the UK.

I see that somebody is asking $4,000,000 for 4,000 acres there.

Is land there really worth $1,000 an acre and did you really pay $19,000,000 for it ??
