Smile buying a house in the Pensacols,Tampa/St.Pete area?

I know I've asked a similar question a short while ago...but now it looks very likely that we will be moving to Florida in the next seven years or so,preferably the Gulf coast side, preferably anywhere between Pensacola to the Tampa/St.Pete areas, wondered what the areas are like to live in,preferably a smaller, peaceful type of town, and wondered what the house prices are like for a two/three bedroom,2 bath, single story.I know it's a bit soon, but we'd kind of like to get a vague idea.....anyone????.......Thank you all.......Sophia(Illinois)

Further south you go the warmer it gets

Yep!got that on our 'fav's',hubby's glued to it!!,but it's still hard to know what the area the houses are in are like....you know,rough?,peaceful?,etc....we're taking are drive down to Florida for our vacation later this year, especially so we can get a look at the areas as well....'course a lot can change in the next 7 years!!......at the moment the houses that we would be interested in are about half the price they would be up here!!!,if we can sell our house for the ammount the property tax accessor says it's worth now,we'll get a real nice place down in Florida....hopefully the difference stays about the same when it comes time to sell up and move!.....Sophia

May I recommend Tallahassee.
We have been here 4 years and love it.
A real nice 3 bedroom goes for about $170K.
It's a wonderful town a real nice place to live and work.
There are some fantastic state parks plus the beaches are about 1 hr away.

Hey! I am off to Tallahassee for 2 days tomorrow! Am going there for work, but my co-worker and I hope to get dinner and maybe some shopping in tomorrow night.

Hey Yorkshirelass, there are some great resturants in town.
Try ChezPiere if your feeling fancy. Nice mix of French/cajen (?)cooking.

Shopping, maybe the Malls. I try to avoid shopping if at all possible.

Have a nice time though, the weather is fantastic at the moment..
