A conservative who thinks that there is no justification for Roe v Wade in the constitution. The good news is, who am I kidding - if you havent applied for citizenship to Canada by now you will be very far down on the list

No doubt the Democrats will throw their toys out of the pram and use the filibuster, once it goes to the Senate. I can hardly wait for this circus to begin!

It's fine. Public opinion is firmly behind Roe v. Wade. Overturn it, ban abortion, and watch the neocons ousted at the next election. No problem whatsoever with me.

If you could please keep talking about privatizing social security loudly, too, that might also help hasten the demise.

Personally I don't think the republicans have any serious intention of doing away with Roe v Wade - it's far too useful to them as a rallying point/distraction issue for the religious right: Same with gay marriage - if the republicans ever completely did away with/banned either of them they would then have to campaign on real issues like the economy, education, environment, "war on terror" and so on, and their patchy record on these increasingly exposes them to electoral defeat.

Errr, the Republicans actually won the election by campaigning on real issues. That's the part that the Loopy Left find hardest to swallow. In fact if the Republicans didn't campaign as hard on gay marriage and abortion, they would have got more votes from the liberal states, and steamrollered that clown Kerry even harder. Bush won, get over it.
