Don't hold your breath. It will be for well qualified buyers only. I know of several places that "Never refuse anyone" but if you have bad credit or no credit they may as well refuse you as the charge you out the ass or tell you to get a co-signer.

agreed!

The more you apply for credit the worse the deal you are going to get. It will show up on your credit report that you have applied for multiple lines of credit, this in turn is looked upon as a bad thing.

I take it you're already here in the US - if you're still in the UK it would be best to go through someone like International Autosource. You're unlikely to get finance from Nissan directly on a 0% deal if you have no credit, they will probably try other places and get you finance through a local credit union but it won't be cheap.

VW operate an expat leasing scheme, have you tried them? Think I heard something about Ford doing it too but I couldn't find anything online.

No-one is going to give you 0%. Credit history is a debt-paying reference - the lender wants to know how you manage debt before approving a loan. No credit history means the lender has no idea how you manage debt. In terms of securing a loan, having no credit history is as bad as having bad credit history.

I think your best bet is to buy a used car outright and build up some credit history using credit cards for a year or so.

Not so in the case of car loans. In fact any loans that commonly involve rate-shopping, such as mortgage, car and student loans, are treated in a different way. For these types of loans, the credit score ignores inquiries made in the 30 days prior to scoring. So, if you find a loan within 30 days, the inquiries won't affect your score while you're rate shopping.

Multiple credit card inquiries however would hurt your score but not by a huge amount.

If you are offered car financing, don't be surprised if the interest rate is >20%, with a good chunk down. That's just the reality for no credit history.

You've asked this question, in various forms many times.

The answer doesn't change.

Utilities, rent, everything but debt only ding your credit for late payment, they make no difference for good payment history, so there's really no point in letting anyone know your SSN that doesn't need it.

If all the hits happen within a couple of days, you'll only get one hard hit and the rest will be soft hits that won't affect the history after about a month.

So it's not a bad idea to check out as many loans, cards, mortgages within the same time frame.
