Bubba Ho-Tep
 

I saw a great movie this afternoon that proves Americans, if they try, can make ironic comedies.
BUBBA HO-TEP finds Elvis Presley alive, but not so well, living in a small Texas nursing home. The elderly Elvis befriends another resident was says he is President John F. Kennedy (played by the noted black actor Ossie Davis). The duo begin to suspect that their neighbors aren't dying of natural causes. Their investigation leads to the discovery of an evil mummy with a fondness for cowboy gear and an appetite for the souls of senior citizens. Armed with little more than a walker and a wheelchair, the King and JFK must take on this ancient evil.
I though this film was inventive and incredibly funny. It's not playing everywhere, but it's scheduled for DVD in May.

Been waiting ages to see this, and it's a real shame that it didn't get a decent run in the cinema. Anything Bruce Campbell does is gold in my book. DVD is pre-ordered! :)
