I had to chuckle to myself... Royal Norman (what a great name!), the weather guy on 3TV here in Phoenix was summarising the weather at the end of last week. The TV screen showed, in large letters, the following...

"Slightly Warm"

followed by...

"101'F"


So I'm curious now - if 'slightly warm' is 101'F, what would 'hot' actually be?!

yup, less than 10% humidity today. I'd much rather have 100F with 10% humidity than 90F with 40% that you get in places like NYC (those NY summers killed me).

We get the best of both worlds; up to 99F with 40% humidity in July However most of the time it's 93 - 98F with 10% humidity, so I suppose I should shut up and stop complaining...

I agree - some years back we had a June holiday in Florida - 95'F and about 1000000% humidity - I don't think I ever felt dry/comfortable the whole time...

Back in the late 1980's, early 1990's, there was one summer in Phoenix where it was like 125F for several days in a row. I had a Brit friend visiting me that year, and he proudly took home the T-Shirt that said "I survived the 125 degree heat in Phoenix". LOL

It wasn't that hot up in Maine over the weekend, tapped high 80's low 90's on the Saturday, but it was about 95% humidity at the in-laws and that was crippling.

We get "cold fronts" pass through in the summer. It means the temp goes down from 105 to 98.

My parents get a kick out of that.
