No, but you do require an Android device, as I said before! It's not a legal service, so it's available to anyone, at least until it gets shut down.

Depending on what content they have, this could be very good. Unfortunate though, all the good stuff like MOTD and the 6 nations I'm assuming won't be shown due to rights issues.

Don't know specifically, but see above about legality.

As long as it has better content than Acorn.

Acorn TV is a legal service, streaming older shows, so it's completely different.

This offers live channels with very annoying ads for android downloads which you can't bypass.

How can a streaming service being launched as a joint venture by the BBC, ITV and ABC to show BBC and ITV shows not be legal?

Wait. What?

Not sure where I got my wires crossed here, but I saw a link to someone offering a box that offers live TV for a one-time cost of 195 Euro!

No, the BritBox thing looks cool and, provided it's able to time shift and the price is reasonable, I'm interested. The illegal stuff, not so much!

Apologies for the confusion. Can't figure out how that happened. I'll just put it down to senility!

You had me going there, I was trying to figure out what you knew and was thinking the 'britbox" was in fact what you were talking about.

I have spent all day wondering why I didn't understand what you were talking about.

How many times can the word illegal pop up (wrongly) in one thread?

There it is again!

Looks cool to me. I pirate the crap out of British TV content right now but I would happily pay for it instead if given the option. This could be the thing that does it.

So basically, they're selling a Kodi box, which is available for about $40-50, streams just about ANYTHING including the latest movies, Premium movie channels and much, much, more, is properly illegal for a lot of its content (including the UK channels), and varies in quality!

I hate the term 'illegal' when referring to *CIVIL* copyright infringements. Please stop using it.

Not wrong in the context of what I THOUGHT I was referring to!

There's a difference? Being *CIVIL* copyright infringements somehow makes it legal? So no, I won't stop using it when it refers to illegally obtaining and watching copyright material!

You clearly have no idea the difference between criminal and civil.

With respect, it seems that it's you who doesn't know the meaning of the word "illegal". Quite simply, it means "against the law". While the term is usually applied to criminal law, there's nothing that says it is exclusive to criminal law. So, whether an action is civil or criminal is largely irrelevant, and the term "illegal" applies to both.

So, you've learned something today. No charge!

Ian
