I wouldn't bother get them converted as each institution/job will want to use their own preferred service.

As others have mentioned, just list them as additional education and you could go into a little more info in the cover letter, suggesting that they are equivalent to an associates degree kind of level of study as far as you could find out.

The problem may arise when the application just asks for the level of education, bachelors degree, associate degree or high school diploma on a drop down list. Technically the OP does not have any of these.

Online applications are the work of the devil when it comes to non-typical information. Hubby found this last year when applying; he has a British bachelors degree and a masters, but some of the forms wouldn't let him proceed until he put in his (non-existent) GPA. And don't get me started on the ones that wouldn't allow non-US addresses for education or employment, despite being huge multinational companies :thumbdown:

Seems to be a glut of ex mil on here at the moment lol.
Firstly, do you have an American spouse or other visa route? Just wondering as I don't see you getting a work visa for a car sales position..
A good immigration attorney will put your military service (if written up well, with conversion to civvy speak- I had a good one done by my OC, but he's very good at that sort of thing) along with the qualifications and present it to a qualifications assessor/ verifier who will then state what qualification level you are at.

Have you used the army skills offer? Depending what rank you are at you can get up to a L6 in management/ supervisory skills from CMI, C&G etc. (Basically, LCpl- L2, Cpl-L3, Sgt- L4, WO2- L5)

Have you checked the requirements for the local agencies?

Not all of them may require citizenship.
Some if I recall correctly allow you to train as long as you are a citizen by the time you graduate.

I would get them converted via one of the official organisations, one of which is WES (World Education Services) International Credential Evaluation | World Education Services and see what they come back with. If you have any A levels also send them. You'll probably find you're only a couple/few courses away from an Associates degree that can be finished quickly and easily at one of the colleges that specialises in degree completion.. EG Charter Oak State College, Thomas Edison State College, Excelsior College, American Public University. The US is obsessed with paper qualifications, you'll find getting even entry level jobs much easier with an Associates degree.

I would not bother getting your quals assessed for conversion. In fact I would say only do so if requested (usually happens in professional track careers, think Pharmacy, Doctor, Lawyer) and then its a racket yielding varied results.

Chances are you will likely have to take a GED qual to qualify for many police officer positions. Its a funny thing but they require it whether you have higher level quals. Easy enough to do at a community college and you don't need to take a course you can 'challenge' or just sit the exam. If you have O levels you should be able to pass it.
