British Passport: Price Change

The cost of a British passport produced by the North America Passport Production Centre in Washington will change on 23 February. More here.

Is that much more expensive? My son needs a new passport so if I can save a decent amount i'd rather do it now.

I BET they process my application now before the 23rd..... just so they don't have to charge me less!! :p

(I REALLY don't mind as long as it comes back to me!!)

wouldn't the price go down as the dollar is stronger against the pound?

Question for BC.

SWMBO naturalised the other month. However, we haven't got around to getting her passport, and will be emigrating in a couple of weeks.

Will she be OK getting her first UK passport once we're living in the USA?

IIRC it went up at the end of last year.

I don't know if they're doing passport interviews overseas yet, might be a need to travel if so.

Thanks JAJ & AP. Looks like an interview will likely be on the cards then.

Oddly, the document is silent about whether the interview must take place in DC, or whether you can apply via DC but have the interview at a local consulate. I guess we'll find out and report back.
