Yep, I've heard that one before. I believe the US soldiers would reply to that by saying...."The problem with the Brit soldiers is that they are under paid, under sexed and under Eisenhower.

Interesting replies guys, thanks. BTW, would a filthy rich American with a lot of money to throw around find it hard getting permanent residence in the UK?

How are American immigrants usally treated in the UK? Are they seen as boons to the economy, or are they looked upon as burdens to the British goverment. Do Americans usally get on well with the British populace, or do Brits usally attack Americans on sight like they do in certain middle eastern countries.

I may be a "bloody yank", but I'm a "bloody yank" who wants to be well informed.
I wasn't an immigrant so I can't say anything about that, but I was working in England.
No one really said anything nasty to me about being a yank unless they were just joking around. They did joke around about us being fat, stupid, hamburger eating rednecks who think america is the best country. And some of them would yell USA! USA! at me all the time. Hehe. Just tease them back.

Most of them didn't know I was a yank anyway unless I told them. For some reason they kept thinking that I was from somewhere else (Australia, Sweden, South Africa! I look the opposite of the Swede stereotype anyway so i have no idea where that one came from!)

Ha! Not to worry, I'm not stupid enough to cheese off the locals. If they start chanting USA!, USA! at me, I'll just say " sorry you lot, but I'm from Canada".

Well, I suppose I could paint my face with stars and stripes, and were a T-shirt that reads "George W. is the greatest president the US has ever known". That would REALLY get my ass kicked.
