Ah well, he got the Bronze but at least he broke the Commonwealth record for a second time so you can't say he wasn't trying!

good for him, being beaten by Phelps is no disgrace at all.

I have no quarrel with that at all and I would definitely agree that funding should be available for athletes to be able train and represent their country without any financial hardship ... but the insane amounts some people want paying and the fact that the IOC has been "blackmailed" by the fact that many believe these prima-donnas would boycott the games and somehow the event would be a lesser spectacle because of it is sad and even obscene ...

a sad indictment of the fact that such tournaments are now merely entertainment for the masses and revolve around commercialism ...

Has Home Depot got any shops in the UK yet?

All their athletes work for a living, although I am sure HD is very accomodating when it comes to time off.

Isn't Home Depot = B&Q? Or is the colour scheme and overall appearance pure coincidence?

B&Q is owned by Kingfisher which has DIY stores in Asia and Europe

Homebase is now owned by Great Universal Stores which also owns Argos, Experian and a Dutch home shopping company.

Home Depot is just owned by Home Depot from what I can tell, but has various stores across the US and Mexico.

I see people slagging off the 'Borg' as it is nicknamed, but that was one of the first physcological differences, did not seem I could walk from one end to another without being asked if I needed help.

Still find it odd after years of B&Q.

Yep, googling seems to suggest B&Q, Home Depot and Homebase are completely separate companies. Finding the orange colour scheme and handwritten style price signs in Home Depot, familiar from many trips to B&Q, I'd assumed the two must be linked somehow.

So, err, yeah. What was the discussion about? Did Gary from paints/wallcoverings make the pole vaulting team, or what?
