Run of the mill stuff from the Hearts - Motherwell game, my brother (who was there) blamed the pitch and the rain and said we could have been 3 up. Bit disapointing since we normally beat the well. Very unlucky Dundee against the dark forces, I heard they held there own for most of the game and lost it in the final mins

Sad to see Newcastle down there. I think bobby is past his best though and difficult choices need to be made by the board.

I would question your Leeds prediction, especially after them struggling to beat Swindon in the last round.

Rovers vs Liverpool -
After the UEFA draw and loss to Charlton today, there's going to be some pressure on Houlier.
There's no love lost between the managers.
Could this be the game that sinks the Frenchman ?
Very interesting game to watch.

Waiting for the FA Cup draw tomorrow morning. After a superb 4-0 win at Bognor Regis, Havant & Waterlooville to reach round 1 again ?

I agree that Leeds are crap, but they hate Man United, and it will be Man U's reserves and kids. More concerned about the Blackburn prediction after their recent collapse of form.

Default Royals set to name new boss

Royals set to name new boss-->
http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/foot...ng/3149380.stm

Reading's director of football Nicky Hammond has
revealed the club will name their new manager this week.
The Royals are seeking a new boss after Alan Pardew decided to leave to take charge at West Ham in mid-October.

"We have some more interviews to carry out, but the manager will be known before the end of the week," said Hammond.

Caretaker boss Kevin Dillon will be in charge at Norwich on Tuesday, but his chances of staying in the post are slim after three defeats in the last four league games.

Glenn Hoddle, Tony Adams, Steve Cotterill, Steve Coppell and Bryan Robson have all been linked with the job.

Dillon hopes to stay at the club no matter what happens, and added: "The chairman (John Madejski) is an honourable man* and I am sure he will honour my contract."
After Steve Coppell has done his 45 days it'll be Hoddle, he lives in Berkshire.

*No he isn't. Dillon will be out as soon as the new manager is appointed.

I remember seeingthe rabid Yorkies doing their airplane imitations against the reds on a ferry going to an England game in the 80s. But then again, unless you love the mancs, who does not hate them ?

Law's backheel was one of my favourite sights of the 70s.

Eight unnamed premiership soccer stars are at the centre of a probe into the alleged gang rape of a 17-year-old girl, a newspaper has reported.

The Sun on Monday said the girl had consented to sex with one of the players at a London hotel over the weekend, but seven other players from the same team joined in against her wishes.

When asked about the Sun report, a Scotland Yard spokesman said detectives from the sex crimes unit Operation Sapphire were investigating the claim.

"Westminster Sapphire have received an allegation of rape from a 17-year-old female," he said. "At this point it would be inappropriate to comment further."

The players were not named, but were said to include "at least one international and several other household names".

Liverpool, Newcastle or Aston Villa ?

Hmm....
*Strokes chin, gets out pipe, puts on deerstalker*

Newcastle played Friday night so they would have been on the train/plane back home...

Liverpool... the (Sun) report says that the seven all play for the same club and include at least one international and several other household names....
The only doubt is that the Liverpool team are nearly all international players (either play for or are from another country)

Villa.... not many players you could name instantly....

Hmmm.....

Reminds me of the mid 80s when Southhampton played in Sweden. Several of the striped vermin were accused of raping a local girl. Mark Wright was aquitted on the grounds that he could not get it up alledgedly.

No wonder they left getting back into Europe for nearly 20 years !

you appear to have omitted the big game at Boundary Park where the mighty Stockport try and get their first win of the season.
