Default British food shops in Raleigh

I was wondering if there are any british food stores in raleigh, NC. I know there is a bunch of expats in NC and if anyone has any info it would be appreciated. My friends are travelling up there next week and seeing as i am in KY (no british food anywhere) im gonna ask them to grab me some stuff if there is any in Raleigh.

Thanks!

I haven't come across any dedicated British food stores in Raleigh or the surrounding area. I order from the numerous online stores but sometimes pick up odd items from the local grocery store, or specialist stores like World Market and the Whole Foods.

Try this link it gives a list of all the Brit suppliers. Didn't look to see if there is NC, but sure you will find something nearby

I don't know of any stores dedicated to British food. How desperate are you for British food?

The place for a one stop shop of quite a number of British food items, mostly non-perishable, would be A Southern Season but this is located in Chapel Hill. This store is far from reasonably priced since it is "gourmet" food store.

I was there a couple of weeks ago and British chocolate bars were about $2.00 each (to give you an idea of prices).

This would be about at least a 30 mins drive from Raleigh. It's in University Mall off 15-501. They have a website that you should give you directions.

Lowes' Foods (the grocery store) can order in British foods through its "Endless Selection" on its site. Your friends may have time to order for delivery in time for your arrival.

Harris Teeter grocery stores (some of them) have a small selection of British foods. e.g. small jar of Marmite for $5.49. We bought such a jar the other week but returned it after we discovered it cost that much (the price was not on the shelf edge label).

A comment about World Markets, the name of the store who's link is above.

If you crave teh British taste I have to warn you that World Market sells British branded choccies/biscuits but they're not made in the UK. They're made in Australia.

I recall World Market sells Twinings and perhaps Typhoo. They also sell Heinz Baked Beans for $1.49 which a very good price.
