For you, we'll give you the special deal of only $1 million.

I don't see Texas hospitals listed anywhere here: http://health.usnews.com/health-news...and-honor-roll

I do see our local hospital in Boston though. #justsaying

I think like many, that will be near the last thing on your mind if you live in an upscale neighborhood and don't go to the bad areas at night.

Pick a web site that favours your argument. Healthgrades.com rates eight hospitals in Texas, of the top 50 in the US, as having exceptional favourable outcomes (six of those eight are in Houston) .... but there are NONE in Massachusetts!

That was an unfortunate link. See main text for Houston and cancer care.

Help with what? I answered your last question "straight" but I don't know if you saw it.

I'm sorry. Unfortunately your thread has gone off on a tangent. I can't say much more than I already have. Guns are commonplace here. It's safest to assume your friends and neighbours have them and be pleasantly surprised if they don't. Every grocery store and medical building has the required sign about no guns. It was advised by our pediatrician to ensure than the idea of gun saftey is introduced early for our children. Like I said before though, it really doesn't affect my everyday life. I enjoy living here and would be happy to answer any other questions.

What are silly replies? There are people on here that like Houston and people that don't. Personally yes houses here are cheap but the way they are made does not compare with a house in the UK. The medical if you need to see a specialist is good but to find a good doctor can be hard and I never found a good doctor in Sugar Land. I personally don't think you have to worry about guns here as in my 6 years I have never had or seen any problems in Houston. What other help would you like?

We probably all object to the half a brain bit.

Do Texans own guns - yes
Do Texans carry guns around with them - yes
Do you hear about gun violence - yes
In 6 years have I seen a gun other than on a police officer or in a shop - no
In 6 years have I heard a gunshot - no
Do any of my friends own a gun - no

It doesn't weigh on my mind any more than it would anywhere else, or on a day to day basis.

Thanks for your help Sue.... Ever tried leaving home country to the Middle East and then moving to another continent after raising a family in the Middle East? Not quite as cut and dry as one makes out

I have left home country and moved to both Middle and Far East to raise a family and would still rather do that than live in Houston. We all know its not easy and every question you ask will get a different answer. I just do not like Houston but the next person will tell you how wonderful it is.
