The school my daughter entered (6th grade) asked to see her work. I took in a sample of her exercise books etc...along with report card. It was a very easy transition apart from the spelling.

I don't think we have anyone who lives in NO...but I could be wrong. Have you tried Google? Sorry but I can't think of anything else as I don't think the schools authority will be able to help with private school info.

You could try phoning or emailing a few private schools in the area...they may be able to point you in the right direction.

Use Great Schools to see the private schools in the area.

I was going to suggest this site too, they have lots of good info on area schools, you could always do a search on citydata.com too, there you can connect with people on a forum similar to this that actually live and use the schools in an area you might be looking at.

My advice would be to make the school district a high priority, after you find one you are happy with, then start looking for a home in that district, you can very easily end up moving into an area you think is in that district, only to find you are maybe one or two streets outside of it, it honestly can be that definitive.

Good luck!

Private schools don't have districts, as long as your child meets the entry requirements and there is a place open, just pay the fees and your child is in. The OP specifically requested information about private schools in the title to this thread.

OP: there is an International School in NO, and that is probably your best bet.

I don't believe there any British curriculum schools in New Orleans. In fact there are not very many in the entire USA.

There are two in Texas though, the British International School and Abercorn International School.

http://www.cobis.org.uk/all-cobis-schools.html

There might be some IB (International Baccalaureate) schools that you can find.

I did see that, but...sometimes after talking to people that actually live in the area you are moving too, re: the citydata forum suggestion, you can get some info on the public schools in that area, they may even suggest they are just as good as the private school, it's worth finding out from those that are in the know. Only suggest it because this is what happened for us before we moved to an area in SC, it totally changed our mind about which area to move too.
