Can anyone recommend some British Companies in the Washington, DC area with whom to seek employment?

Well that's kind of an odd question. Perhaps you can narrow down your scope of expertise to help narrow down the options. Are you a nuclear radiation lab technician or a secretary? Kind of alters what to look for...

And where in DC are you going to live? Commuting from one side of the metro area to the other is a nightmare so you might want to narrow the focus of your search to DC proper, NoVa, Md, Baltimore, etc.

I am a Marketing Professional and thus can work for any organization which has a marketing department. Geographically speaking I would be most interested in DC proper or Northern Virginia.

What's your professional background? Do you have any professional certifications, membership of industry organizations, or are a recipient of any national marketing awards? Most importantly, do you have at least a Bachelor degree?

Least it ain't IT...but this is even a harder field to crack...best bet is through your contacts.

I am a member of the American Marketing Association and currently working towards my PCM (Professional Certified Marketer) certification. I do have a Bachelors degree. I have eight years experience in Sales and Marketing with 4 specifically in marketing.

As Bob has already mentioned, your best bet is to approach contacts for job opps. You're a member of the AMA so perhaps it's time to go their meetings/events, etc.

What about fellow students taking the PCM? Maybe they have some leads.

Look through Chamber of Commerce listings: http://www.babinc.org/
Identify the DC offices (if any) of the FTSE 100.

If your primary objective is to travel back and forth to the UK a lot, though, that might be difficult.

Depends what type of work you want matey

Bus driver ? ... First / Greyhound (British owned)
Coach USA (Owned by Stagecoach)

Truck driver ? ... P & O transport.
BOC transport (British oxygen)

Electricl work ? .... National grid.

Other utility ? ..... Severn Trent water.

I am sure the more 'I T' involved people can come up with some more
