G.

MG Owners Club recommends 3 in the Tri-state area. None are in Ohio.

And, yes, I know an MG is NOT a Jensen-Healey, but it may be somewhere to start for names in Ohio for British specialists. (And I envy your purchase!)

Thanks for the info. Unfortunately, the J-H is quite a special car that I will need for sure someone familiar with the make, which is a tall order, considering its discontinuation.

Thanks

G.

Have you tried a post on the Jensen Healey or the british car forums ?

I have joined the Jensen-Healey Preservation Society without finding help thus far. I just e-mailed the Northeast Ohio Healey Club, hoping to hear from someone to guide me.

If you could be more specific as to the addresses of the places that you recommended, I would be grateful.

thanks

Hi G

You should not need a specialist British Tec to service a Jenson Healey, they are basically an early kit car, the Interceptor's were pretty much all American running gear.
I am assuming yours is the actual Jenson Healey model ? These had a basic 16 valve Lotus 907 series engine and twin carbs, nothing to stretch an able American or British tec.
The running gear and braking is pretty standard 1970's stuff, front girling discs and rear drums.
Maybe if she has been stored for some time an in depth look might be necessary as rubbers/seals perish but if up and running and been used regular then any able tec should give a standard service.

Regards

Steve

I tend to agree with you although I am no mechanic. The truth of the matter is that most mechanics who might have been familiar with the car in its heydays must have retired by now and those who presently practice the craft must have some knowledge, have encountered one of those or serviced something similar from this one.

Besides, most mechanics are fond of old cars not the least old British cars, at least mine is crazy about his MG. I will take a leap of faith and trust a guy in Hudson who heads the Healey Society in Northeast Ohio. The webmaster old a British car website recommended that I check him out.

Let's hope for the best. I thank you all even though I have not yet gone for the car which is far. I live in Florida, from where I'll go to oversee the work.

i'll keep you posted as things go along and pick your brains further, if you don't mind
