I just bought my granddaughter a Cadbury's 'Scream' egg (Halloween styled, green cream) from a gas station last week.

Where was it made? If it's not Bourneville, England...it ain't Cadbury's.

I've found that Canadian made Cadbury chocolate is quite nice too, I just don't particularly care for the Hershey made stuff in the USA - the texture and flavour is all wrong.

If Kraft get the contract back from Hershey I'm sure that the quality will improve. Say what you want about Kraft, but when they took over Tobler/Suchard the quality didn't really drop, Milka and Toblerone are as nice as they always were.

Maybe, maybe not... I think one of the issues in the taste difference is that chocolate in the US can't legally contain vegetable oil and still be called chocolate. That would still be lacking in any US Kraft-produced chocolate.

Fair point - either way though, getting the Cadbury brand out of the clutches of Hershey has got to be a good thing because Hershey just don't know how to make chocolate of any quality at all. Also they refuse to buy their cocoa fairtrade.

Absolutely... the lack of vegetable oil isn't what causes Hershey's to taste like vomit. Plus Hershey's has done a piss-poor job of marketing Cadbury.

I firmly believe that Hershey includes vomit in their ingredients...that's the reason it tastes and smells like vomit.

Lipolysis - fatty acid breakdown - butyric acid release.

I've explained all this elsewhere. Do try and keep up old girl.

I wonder if, given that butyric acid is a component of vomit, is JG right on a technicality?

You raise a very good point, although I've always thought the vomitus chunder was reserved specifically for the Fruit and Nut choccy bars.

They had to do something with the chunks of carrot, after Hersheys used the liquid ...

There's a vendor on amazon.com (the US one) called BritishMart that ships from the UK, but charges $1.50 shipping per item, and a WorldMarkets type price for the item. If you want to order a couple of big dairy milk bars it works out at quite a reasonable compared to other UK food shippers where they charge shipping by weight. We bought some Giant Buttons from them and they arrived within a week, but they ship using the ordinary post office, so you are at the whim of the usual postal delays.
