British Cadbury's Chocolate in the US
I just got an email from World Market that confirms they are no longer allowed to import it for US distribution. That sucks major donkey balls! This is all Kraft's fault I just know it. I emailed World Market as I was pissed that they were not selling the proper Cadbury's online or in their stores.

I wonder if this is going to be the same in all stores? Actually, thinking about it our Meijer doesn't stock Cadbury in the foreign foods section. I can get Bountys or aeros, so Mars/Nestlé stuff. If you have a Costco card and happen to go to Canada, you can buy boxes of Crunchies from there, and chunky kitkats.

I used to buy Lindt milk chocolate in our local drug store, it was made in Switzerland. Then I noticed you could buy it everywhere, including Walmart. I bought it once.. tasted completely different. Small print, it is made in Canada or US. So I won't be buying it again.

Received an assortment of Lindt chocolates purchased in Europe from a colleague. Hated it and just threw it all away. And, no, I'm not a fan of Hershey.

I just bought a couple of Dairy Milk's from a small international grocer over the weekend. I wonder if they will continue to carry them.
I may just have to savor this last bar for a long time.

Well bollox to it - as a matter of principle, and also taste (!) I am boycotting anything Hershey's...
They made a passable fruit & nut bar - 1/4 the price of the real deal... but I'll cut off my nose to spite my face, as it were, and boycott them. I'm sure it will make a huge dent in their earnings

One is seriously unimpressed with this news. Might have to go to Fresh and Easy later and stock up whilst the chocs are still there

I doubt very much if Kraft have anything to do about this. Hershey have an exclusive distribution deal for Cadbury branded chocolate products in the US - there's nothing Kraft would want more than to wrestle it back and handle their own production and distribution. In fact, unless I have my sources wrong, the Hershey contract is due to expire next year (1988 + 25 years) - so, this could just be a bunch of sour grapes by the Hershey corporation.

Good news if this contract expires next year; one can only hope that it doesn't get renewed. I've read before that Cadbury management in retrospect considered the Hersey deal a mistake, but of course Kraft might feel differently.

I wondered why all the Cadbury's had disappeared from World Mkt! I hope there are no creme eggs this Easter, because I get addicted to them, and hate myself for eating so many! (sorry)!
