Default Britain - no smoking - 2007

So, finally, it looks like the UK is going the same way as most places here in Georgia. As a non-smoker who grew up until I left home as a 40 a day passive smoker - child , I say thank God.

I can't think of anywhere left in the US where you can have a drag.

A couple of down-home diners in town here After getting used to smoke-free establishments it comes as a shock to walk in there (which I did only once!!)

I always remember leaving a club a number of years ago in San Francisco and thinking how weird it was not to smell like an ashtray. Keep the bans coming as far as I'm concerned.

You can still smoke in restaurants here in Scottsdale, but neighbouring town of Tempe has a ban.

I get more than annoyed when people find it necessary to use their mobile phones when they have gone out to eat a meal. To be quite honest it pisses me off more so than smoking does. There are a lot of things I am sure that cause ill health, smoking just happens to be one of them.

I wonder how much taxes will go up due to the loss in revenue in ciggies / booze sales

Okay, let's try to think of something equally dangerous for your health:

Skydiving?

Working as a bomb disposal expert?

Trying to cross the M25 on foot?

Well, I'm sure there are a few more things...

They don't seem to have a problem with smoking in Las Vegas ... well, not in the gambling areas anyway.

I'm sure they've had overpaid civil servants in Los Angeles studying the economic effects for years. People's need for alcohol seems to far outweigh their need for a cigarette. I wonder if they'll allow smoking outdoors, in which case, everyone can just pile out into the beer garden.

I am sure driving in the UK has to be one of them or equally dense traffic. I could and would not put up with it. One of the joys of SC.
