I know, story of my life. Been turned back at the airport twice for visa problems (my bags came to the States without me once....), and had to take a quick trip to Juarez once to get my visa stamped so I could go back to the UK for an interview.

Still trying to figure out if this retrogression applies to me as I don't think my GC is employment based (distinguished researcher/professor?). Can you tell I really am in two minds about the whole thing? Haven't even submitted my GC app yet (couldn't face submitting my app with check for $1,000's, then finding out next day that I had a job in the UK).

When (if ever) I get back to UK, the number one thing I will be glad to see the back of is USCIS - and Bahamian immigration 1983-1990 was a 'mare also.

I was looking for Springtime in Paris ... or Springtime in Prague.

Errr....would have thought it would still because of the H1B...but what do I know....best bet would be to ask in the immigration section, someone might know :)

No, actually Dunrovin'gs probably in the clear regarding retrogression. Distinguished/exceptional researcher/professor is an EB1 status, I believe, and is exempt from priority date retrogression, which applies to EB2 (skilled worker) and EB3 (all other) H1-B visas.

But I'm not a lawyer, so you'd best talk to one if you're going to submit a GC application Dunroving.
