Weirdos? In Louisiana? You ought to visit the "other" L.A....
God, you're in culinary heaven! And the music! And all the outdoor activities! If it weren't for the climate, I wouldn't mind living there myself.
Oh, and welcome to the US and to BE!

Decent lippy....hmm depends if you wanna go cheap or expensive....cheap I find Target (maybelin, loreal etc) to be priced right but if you wanna go expensive..Macy's stores have all the big names...MAC, Bobbi Brown etc

You're not from Brissle, you're from Weston-super-Mare!
Well, you're still on/near the seaside in Lafayette but how bout dem Cajuns? The food's good, though.
I know someone from Burnham-on-Sea, Weston-super-Mare is the "big city" they go into to go to the supermarket.
I'd check out Target to see the Boots selection. Cosmetics seem to be one of those things that are hard to switch once you get used to one sort (same with English vs American chocolate).

Hello.....do you look like Rodney's wife, Cassandra?
My cousin lives in Weston-Super-Mare....she met her Scouse husband when they were teenagers working at a holiday camp in the area (possibly in Burnham-on-Sea...a Warner's I think) and when they got married they stayed on in Weston-S-Mare.
My husband is from Brizzle - oddly enough doesn't have the accent - and lived in Cotham. He still says the best fish and chips in the world is from the chippie at Christmas Steps.
Probably the best place for cosmetics is Sephora, you will find their stores all over the USA:

I know the place at the bottom of the Christmas Steps.. it is good, but I have a horrible memory from my childhood of eating my chips there when someone threw a stink bomb... I have never gone back since!
