Default Bringing M&S Xmas Pud over to US

My Father is visitng me in the US next week. If M&S are already selling their Xmas puddings I was going to ask him to bring one over. Will customs allow him to bring it through?

If they are not for sale yet I was going to get him to send one via FedEx later - similar question, will FedEx accept it / US customs allow it to come through??

Yes dried or cooked fruit in a cake or pudding is fine. My sister brought me over a home made fruit cake to Charlotte 3 weeks ago and was stopped through customs and the man asked if he could have some!! I think he almost fainted when he saw the stash of chocolate (10 x 400g bars). Next week she's bringing to Cayman my wedding cake and two Christmas puddings that she made too.
I love my sister! What a star!

Christmas pud in checked luggage...mince pies in hand luggage.

Christmas cards are another thing I bring back from the UK this time of year. I prefer my cards to actually say "Happy Christmas" rather than "Happy Holidays".

Do you declare them on the customs form which asks if you are bringing in food?

Yes...I list them as Christmas Pudding and Mince Pies because I can't really think of a standard name like 'cookies' that they would fit into.

If you live near a World Market store, you can buy Christmas puddings in the US - plus lots of other Christmas goodies. Of course, it won't be M & S brand.

I did bring a harrods Christmas pudding from their store in LHR last year and did declare it on the customs form and there was no problem.

Spoke to my Father this afternoon - he went and picked one up from Selfridges so very happy - its my first Christmas spent outside UK, so at least I can have a reminder of home!

No mince pies available yet - guess they would go stale by Xmas if put on the shelves now?

I can buy Walkers from several places around here...I'm not keen on them but they're better than nothing.
