Breakfast In America!

Re: Breakfast In America!
You need to have breakfast one day in my neighborhood. Being an Irish enclave you get the typical Irish breakfast
eggs, rasher of bacon, sausage (Irish, black or white), Heinz beans, toast and if wanted, pancakes.
Me, I'm a Yank, and have a bran muffin for brekkie. On weekends I like two poached eggs on an english muffin or pancakes or french toast. Rarely have meat with breakfast these days

Well you took that one in rather a new direction, didn't you
That sounds like a pretty close approximation to the much lauded Ulster Fry. I approve

Local diner (proper crusty silver jobby) - two eggs over easy, hash browns and white toast. Big glass of orange juice.

I usually wait until I get to work then start eating my lunch. I've never really liked breakfast though even when I didn't have to make it myself, I'd rather use the time it would take to make and eat it and use it for extra sleep.

So I was just putting the boiled eggs on and wondered there is so much moaning and groaning about the bacon the sausages the bread even the beans in the US, what do you have for breakfast, just put up with the US version of everything?.....don't have breakfast maybe or only, like myself have a real fry up at the weekends only!!!
Had to laugh the BF had never made poached eggs until he met me
Just a bit curious!

Usually just oatmeal or cereal. And only very rarely, maybe every few months, do we do a bigger breakfast like eggs and bacon. For awhile we were doing egg white and Canadian-style bacon on the Thomas english muffins, but it became too expensive to do all the time.
Is there an equivalent to english muffins in the UK? Would it just be a scone?

Re: Breakfast In America!
I hardly bother with breakfast because I can't be bothered....on the weekends, the missus often makes muffins or pancakes as the little one loves them, but I'm rather indifferent.
Have the odd fry up once in a blue moon and make do with what ever bacon/sausages and beans might be lying around.
I used to love having a soft hardboiled egg with marmite finger soldiers, but can't be bothered making them as it's just me eating them.

I used to love having yakult, but could never find it here...so just searched because of this...and well I'm not driving over to Quincy to get a packet...even though that's about 10 miles further than the one at Mass ave, it's still probably easier to get to at 30 miles

I have waited for the moment I could pick you up on something.
