Bottled Water - do you?
As a kid growing up, tap water was just fine, but later on in life (maybe it was the India incident :D ) I have switched to bottled water. So much so, that we own a machine (5 gallon thingie)
What do you do? |
(Ey der Scouse. Yer wouldn't be a scouser by any chance wud yer ? ;) )
Are you bored Pete ? A poll about water....... ? *Raises one eyebrow* OK alright I do have an opin and yes I am a bottle man. Because of the climate here I always have one with me. Back in Blighty I drank nothing but coffee. Never touched the h20. Completly changed now. Cup of coffee in the morning. Water for the rest. I dunno...water... next we'll be talking about our cats not crapping in their litter tray. *Pete taps Webbie on shoulder and points* Oh we have. :D |

The only tap water I drink, is in my kettle when I make tea. Everything else is Arrowhead from Costco. I always used tap water at home in my Robinsons!.

When in Tucson tap water is fine for tea and coffee; but if you want cold water it comes in bottles straight from the fridge. Indeed there are days when it comes straight from the freezer. London water is fine from the tap any time of the year. |
The big companies (GRRR) TAKE water from Michigan because its so pure. We have a well and the water is great, its clear, no funny smells or tastes and makes a decent cuppa tea.
Jan :) |
I haven't drunk tap water for years. Always bought bottled water in the UK. Tap water tastes disgusting wherever you are.

I had to drink bottled water when I lived in Spain and haven't drunk tap water since. The only stuff I won't touch is Dansini which is Coca Coca's offering and is just cleaned up tap water.

Chicago tap water has a lot of character, fresh from Lake Michigan off the coast of Gary, Indiana, and in the summer it has a lovely flavour of algae which thrive in the old pipes. Why would you drink anything else?

None of those fit. sorry:D
I do buy bottled water but the cheap variety because it is only for the kids to take to school and for their friends when they come over. We have a fridge that dispenses filtered water for every day use. When we first came to the US, I started to get really bad stomach problems. I narrowed it down to the tap water. In NJ the chlorine levels were so high you could smell it strongly as you ran the tap. It was OK if I boiled the water first but not if I drank it straight from the tap. It isn't as bad here. We are on a community well. The bottles that I do buy get reused regularly by a quick wash and filled with the fridge water. |
I have one of those PUR things that you put on the tap, it filters water as you run the tap and needs a new filter every 2000 gallons or something.
Makes shite NY water actually taste fairly good... once you've switched to filtered water, its very hard to go back to tap, I can really taste the chemicals in tap water now and I never used to be able to. Seriously, people have been known to die very painful deaths from drinking the tap water in New York. |
Best bottled water in the world is Volvic....although I tend to put up with the heavily chlorinated tap water in these parts rather than fork out on crates of bottled water...
Chlorine content is very high in Northern VA, hardly surprising given the germophobes in this part of the world and unhealthy obesssion with hygiene. Even to the point of carrying antiseptic wipes to sterilize hands after a hand shake. |
