I've been picked up domestically (hmm, sounds a bit strange) and it wasn't a problem, but as others have said, they couldn't wait for you. Maybe find a fast food place or something nearby and wait for your call. Plenty within a few miles, thus a few minutes.

Depends on the airline - Delta, US Airways and AirTran are the big gate-holders in Terminal B, along with International carriers, Virgin Atlantic, BA, Lufthansa, Air France and TAM - so most of the domestics are in and out of A.
As stated - just head for the cellphone lot and wait for a call - the parking nazis at MCO are notorious for their enraged whistle blowing and arm-waving.
