Default Blackjack Missouri!

Could someone please explain what the heck is going in this city. The city has a n ordinance that unless people are married they cant own a home and therefore are being asked to move somewhere else?

The Land of the Free is slowly turning into a theocracy.

In Kuwait and Saudi Arabia the police carry out random traffic stops. If a man and women are in the car together, and they are not husband & wife or brother & sister, then they are fined or imprisoned.

Wait for it to happen here

That's not 100% accurate but it looks like that is the idea. You can live there if you are a single individual, 2 or more people related by blood, marriage or adoption or a group of 3 or less not related in any way. Seems like a shite policy to me with some workarounds but why would you want to live in a place like that in the first place?

Is this just a new ordinance then? They interviewed one interracial couple who had lived there for 13 years, owned their own home but not married and they are being asked to move!

I think I read that it had been around for 20 odd years but it is the latest revision that is causing the problems.

It's mentioned at the bottom of the page here:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black_Jack,_Missouri

But the link isn't valid.

Stoopid idiotic crap laws.
Its not that long ago that women weren't allowed to live together in Sorority houses because more than 4 women co-habiting constituted a brothel
