Black Friday Stampedes In Asda Stores in the UK
Oh my goodness - Walmart has exported Black Friday sales to their Asda stores in the UK and it has caused bedlam at some locations with people getting arrested. Maybe the 'People of Walmart' website should now have a British section for the trailer trash UK chavs....

Meanwhile, back in the USA (and as I'm typing this it isn't even 9am ET)....

WTF is happening over there? I am still on John Lewis' mailing list and noticed an email about 'Black Friday Sale'

No idea! I never participated over there and I'm certainly not starting over here. Might have been a good day to shop though - someone told me she had to google Black Friday to find out what it was.

I'm sure I've never seen Black Friday sales over here in the UK before, but they're everywhere this year: John Lewis, Selfridges, Amazon, plus smaller places too. Mind you, I managed to get hubby a new digital SLR and zoom lens at half price from Amazon's sale, so I'm not complaining!!

I've noticed Black Friday sales in the UK a few years back. Can't remember what shops though. Obviously nowhere near the scale here and of course no one that had never been to the US over thanksgiving had a clue what Black Friday was.
As for the stampedes in the UK, it was Asda. Nothing else meets to be said!

Whats with the UK obsession in copying everything the yanks do?
I was shocked when i went back to the UK last time to find out they actually do school proms in the UK and parents will max out their credit cards in order to make sure their kids look the best.
When will they stop fireworks on guy fawkes night and start having them on July 4th I wonder? Can't be far off at this rate?
