Re: Best and Worst states to live in
SWMBO's cousin played violin in Kansas. Or something.
But the "Panhandle" thing got me to thinking.
*Plus - it's very thick.

- Florida has a panhandle - it droops down.
- Oklahoma has a panhandle - it sticks straight out.
- Texas has a panhandle - it points up, proudly*.

Re: Best and Worst states to live in
I have lived in Texas, Oklahoma, Colorado and now (back) in Illinois. Hubby comes from CA, go there often to see his family, been to Florida, New Mexico, Arizona and Nevada for vacations. I don't have a clue as to which is the best State to live in, because it all depends on what your likes/needs are.
But for me, I love it here in Illinois, it has it's good/bad points though, I complain and whine about the humidity in Summer and especially about the mosquitos! But I complain when it snows too. I was in Colorado until December 08 (was there almost 2 yrs) and I have to say I didn't like living there, the drivers are crazy! fall asleep on green and drive like a bat out of hell for a red light, lol. (just my experience, don't hate me!) I know the drivers in St Louis are not much better though, but that is MO (sorry ABY) Anyway, I think it's a personal thing and I don't think you could get everyone to agree on a "best State"

Funny, growing up in STL we always said Illinois drivers were horrible.

Maine sucks
I could handle the Winters if the Summers were nice. but it's humid with mosquitos the size of birds, and your power goes out at least once a week in the Summer lightning storms.
