Hi,

I will be over in England over Christmand and my fiance has money saved up for me to bring back with me. What we have done in the past is him exchange the pounds into dollars and then I bring back the cash... This time it would be a great deal larger amount of cash, under 10,000 though and I am wonder what other way I could bring this back with me. Would a UK bank be able to give me a check I could cash here? Or what the best option for me would be?

www.xe.com

- Better rates - why line the bank's pockets?
- Can have it sent electronically if you wish (rather than cheque) so nothing to carry.

Yeah use a currency broker rather than a bank that will rip you off.

XE is popular here, I found ukforex to be a lot easier to set up though.

It will go from source to target bank accounts in just a few days, with a conversion on the way of course.

I use Currencies Direct - always very good, quick and efficient.
