best savings/current account to open here in uk while living in amerika
 
i will be moving to amerika as soon as i sort my daughters' schooling, which account should i open or maintain. i already have an abbey current & isa which is also online based. i was thinking of an online saver, which one????

Open a few online accounts because interest rates often change...... for instance First Direct, Smile, etc. Nationwide and First Direct have current plus savings accounts where you can easily transfer money from one to the other. I expect Abbey will have an online savings account too.

Check the Motley Fool or Money Expert for different accounts, rates and conditions.

Has to be Nationwide since ATM withdrawals attract no further charges if you need to dip in to the cash.

No charges from Nationwide....... but what about the ATM charges this side of the pond?
