As a new long distance calling user i wants to know which is the best options to make cheap international calling.

I have used VOIP for years and have no issues, I started with Lingo and they did pretty good. I switched to Vonage about 5 years ago and have not had a single issue with their service.

A lot will depend on which specific countries you are calling, whether it will be mobile phones or landlines and of course how much you call said countries.

Calling cards are of course mobile and can be used from any phone, but with vonage I have their IPhone app (free with service) which will either use their service by "dialing" and american number, or using your data plan to gain access so my unlimited minutes cell phone plan covers it. It will also place calls over wifi so even if I don't have cell reception but have a wireless signal I can still call out.

Not a calling card but available from any phone. US-Uk calls are around one cent a minute. Hard to beat.

I have to admit I had never heard of them. Looks pretty good though, especially if you need to call mobile phones as well as landlines, their rates seems pretty good, i may have to consider this.
How is the call/connection Quality?

For the most part, no problems. I speak to my 89-year old dad and 82-year old mum without issue.

It's pre-pay, but the money never expires and you only pay for what you use (no connection fees or anything hidden).

You can register your phones for use without having to enter a PIN, making it really easy too.
