and I loved the Sixth Sense...normally I figure out an ending but that one caught me unawares..fab

sounds like we are typing down our favs...I don't think that necessary is the same as best movie ever...I know for a fact that a lot of the movies I love are utter shite
if you had to take into consideration...cast...setting..special effects( if any) wardrobe, plot, characters etc etc which movie would be your one choice as best movie of all time? can you do it can you narrow it down...?

James Bond, when in my teens.

Recent movies, maybe Shawshank Redemption.
Last few years Lord of the Rings, held us in our seats for 3 x 3 hours.
I guess, we would need to split them in to Genres.

Shawshank Redemption is quality....as is Standby Me...and for another laugh, but I rather liked young Ray, in Scum

Still not seen hidden fortress, but seen a few others and rather liked them, and agree about seven samurai, that's a quality movie

I liked the Sixth Sense because I didn't see the twist coming. And thats exactly why I didn't like the Usual Suspects - way, way, way too easy to figure out who Keyser Soze was (lets see - there was only one member of the gang who survived and was telling the story - it couldn't be, could it?)

I really liked Se7en - thats probably at the top of my list. I also liked Saving Private Ryan for the realism in the D-Day landing scenes.
