Not that I know of, but MVNOs are typically cheaper and https://bestmvno.com/mvnos/ will tell you which network each MVNO uses.

This site may also help with comparing prepaid plans

For most services you will be restricted to one choice and so the decision is already made for you. :(

I have access to ATT, Verizon, Sprint and T-Mobile, this is probably true in most Metro areas.

Many thanks. I haven't really lived in the US as an adult (moved to the UK when I was 22 & a student), so this is all new territory!

Me too for cellular services. I could have been clearer that it was in response to the TV/Internet question.

I agree, choices for internet/TV providers are very limited in many parts of the US.

To be frank, I would rather signup with an MVNO. Straight talk and Cricket wireless were pretty good when I was in the US. Straight talk did not throttle their data speeds and I used to get up to 20 MBPS download speeds with them. Straight talk's $45 plan had unlimited talk, text and data. Better than getting into contracts, unless you are planning to get a new IPhone or Samsung Galaxy for $0, I wouldn't get into contracts in the US.
