Default Best Indian Food in the US?

Moguls Indian is located in Clear Lake City (part of greater Houston), Texas. I challenge you to find better Indian food anywhere. I certainly haven't

Why do you think it is so good? Please explain otherwise your post is pretty much spam.

The quality of the food and service is outstanding, and the prices are very reasonable. I particuarly recommend the Murgh Mallai (which i believe is chicken Mahkni elsewhere), the Murgh (chicken) Korma, Chicken Vindaloo and Garlic Naan. The Garlic naan has cilantro and fresh Garlic baked into it. They also have a red hot Jumbo shrimp dish, Kadai Jingha. Additionally if you like Lamb, they have some very hot dishes including rogan josh.

Do they offer the mild, medium or hot option on the currys like most American curry houses seem to.

No, its not really an American curry house but an Indian restaurant. Dishes like Korma are relatively mild, as they should be. Other like Vindaloo only come in "omigod its ******* hot". When you see the phrase "fiery hot sauce" on the menu, its a good idea to exercise caution, and have some cold Kingfisher on hand.

What types of diners does this restaurant attract? Brits/expat Brits, Americans?

Does the restaurant offer balti dishes? Dosas? Bhel puri?

Penguin, It attracts a good deal of Indian's as well as Americans & Expats. Clear Lake city has a large Indian population, due to the Johnson Space Center. I am not familiar with the dishes you mention, but they do have a selection of vegetarian dishes that I have never tried. They stay very busy.
