Best currency transfer/currency exchange options
£ is up to almost $1.6 so thinking of transfering some money across - anyone got any good thoughts on ways and means? Currently thinking to get it changed at ICE in Chelsea, London, where they are doing a rate of $1.597, then transfer through to our Citibank account there from our Citibank account here.
Anyone know if there is a maximum amount before you have to declare it? On the Visa Waiver, you can only bring up to $10k in, but i don't know if this applies to bank transfers (i would assume so, as the IRS would want to know about it, not to mention those in charge of security who will be monitoring monetary transfers for all sorts of reasons etc).
Thanks all!

$10k and above must be declared to IRS. If you do a bank transfer they will take care of this for you. You won't have to pay tax or anything you are simply transferring money you already own.
