Best Chain Restaurants in America

Re: Best Chain Restaurants in America
[QUOTE=SarahUK]These are the following chain restaurants which have been voted as the best chain restaurants in their respective parts of the country. Personally I can't believe Red Lobster is in there, every time I've eaten there its been shite and I would never go back. I'm also glad to see Ruby Tuesdays isn't on the list, $8 for cheese fries always pisses me off!
LOL, That's a quote worthy of Yogi Berra. I personally like;
P F Changs - Singapore noodles, lettuce wraps and kick ass Mai Tai's
Tony Roma's - Pretty good ribs
El Torrito & Campos - Pretty decent Mexican food chains.
Norms - Cheap and cheerful, open 24 hours, we used to go here at 2 AM after the bar, haven't done that for years as I am now a very responsible father.
Plenty of other good restaurants but since we are limited to chains.......

Has the best deserts of any chain. The salad bowl. The chicken marsala is excellent.
Cracker Barrel
Good food. Fast. Breakfast menu. Excellent value for money. Used to hate those hard wooden chairs, but ok with them now.

There's a Texas Roadhouse next to our apartment complex. They do the best ribs and mash ever, i would put them in my top five.

All I can say is I am very happy that I dont live in the Northeast - the top 4 are 4 of the worst restaurants I have ever been in (Dennys being number 5) ! but spot on with the west (where we are) Macaroni Grill is fab and I eat lunch in Mimis all the time ( today in fact in 3 hours time !)
Also I would rather eat my own foot that eat in the Olive garden I also would question whether Chuck e Cheese's is restaurant !

Cracker Barrel - made the mistake of ordering chicken stew and dumplings with mash. Ended up with a load of white cack on my plate, white watery chicken, white watery gravy, white dumplings and packet mash. Will never eat there again.

Cracker Barrel has a tendency to be very southern in it's cooking style. If you really want white on white try their "Biscuits and Gravy". You'll have a salt high all day.
An excellent choice in this area is "Mel's Diner" (small chain). Chicken Fred steak is awesome.

We went to Olive Garden once and the service was so bad (i.e. it took half an hour for the salad to arrive!) that we decided to leave ... the manager was very apologetic and then met us in the car park with everything we had ordered for the main course in take-out boxes ... with his compliments! Kinda felt guilty getting a $50 meal for free, but at least they actually made the effort to put things right, which is more than can be said for our experience of Appleby's.

I hate it when the schools keep giving out tokens to the children for a free pizza at Shakey's ... with the condition that you have to eat it there ... so the free crappy individual pizza ends up costing an arm and a leg because the kids want to play all the machines!
