I'm sure I'll normalize soon.

Good question. It is interesting as to me it carries a sense of conforming to a 'norm'. Apparently everyone comes to accept a given situation eventually. Some days I think I've cracked it and some days definitely not.

Yeah, I'm not sure what it is anymore either, I used to think I knew.
Everyone has a different definition of normal and and a different set of circumstances to accept if they move I suppose.
Not sure that I'll ever crack it permanently all the while I'm in the USA. After almost 10 years here I feel I should have, but after reading what other people write, maybe not.

I love it here. I've been here over three years, and have absolutely no desire to ever go back to the UK.

Is this a defining factor in happiness? It might be.

I get 24 days a year plus 10 public holidays.

The only time I have ever heard it used is in audio - normalising the volume of a set of tracks.

I'm sure it can be applied to 'becoming normal' as well - but don't quote me on that . . .

Hang on - I did say 'don't quote me'

Funny it didn't mention the audio application though!

How the heck did you manage that? I work for a large Fortune 500 company (been there 11 plus years) and get 15 days vacation and 6 public holidays - one miserable day for Thanksgiving and one for Christmas. You must work for the government to get all that time off!!!!
