Re: BBC1 + BBC2 Streaming Again
Seems to be very on and off. I'd gladly pay for this though. I think the beeb are missing out on a great oportunity.

Dunno if I've done a good or bad thing, but I just emailed the Beeb with your great idea of being prepared to pay for this. Maybe if more of us do it, it might have some impact...

Ok so the truth has come why the streams were running and are now dead.
It was a mistake...they didn't realise until a BBC Tech manager visited a forum that url's were posted on.

Cool, thanks for pointing this out so publicly!
I've now fixed the ACL on the router which was supposed to be restricting access to these engineering-test unicast streams.
What you've been watching is supposed to be watched over multicast, restricted to the UK, as part of the BBC IPTV trials. We've also been doing some experiments with multi-Mbps multicast streams, which are stunning quality (although a bit harder to receive at home!). Next we'll be doing some HDTV-over-IP trials.

Re: BBC1 + BBC2 Streaming Again
I got a reply from BBC Broadband which included the same bit of email from Simon Lockhart. They didn't address why they're not planning on offering this outside the UK so I've emailed back and will keep bugging them until I hear a sensible justification.

Re: BBC1 + BBC2 Streaming Again
But then why can't we be given the option to pay for a tv license so that we are able to see the real BBC?? I have written to them also but don't know if anything will come of it. Some other countries including Cyprus are able to view these channels, so why not the US?
