Default BBC World?

BBCAmerica has been running some ads recently (or maybe I saw them on PBS) advertising a "BBCWorld" channel "coming soon".

Anyone know anything about this?

Actually, I'm hoping it might be something more like they get out in the Middle East - my brother (Egypt) gets all the football and rugby, plus programming that is more like the real BBC not America's caricature of the BBC.

Must admit, I do like Ground Force.

I thought BBC World was BBCA minus Changing Rooms, What not to Wear, Cash inthe Attic and and that David Dickinson nitwit?

Would be nice if we could get it here. Must be better than BBCA surely!!

Not quite "BBC World" cable channel ... but I heard a while back that one of the American cable channels (Sci Fi channel?) has bought the rights to screen the latest Dr. Who episodes.

And that's a bad thing? I'll take the BBC news over any of the networks over here, or Fox News any day.
