As long as its not endless repeats of "What Garden Cash Not to Bargain Changing Wear Force Hunt in the Attic", I might actually get a HD box next!

Anything? Really? You must know the reason that BBC shows Benny Hill so much. Please explain.

Come now! The Benny Hill show was instrumental in helping Americans understand how people live in the UK. Why, if it hadn't been for good ole' Benny, I would never have guessed that middle aged men in the UK spend most of their time chasing young girls around to the tune of "Yakety Sax" by Boots Randolph- in sped up motion no less.

BBC do not broadcast in the US, well Radio 1 excepted.

BBCAmerica is I believe run by Disney, they just rent the name and some programmes.

When did Disney buy it, because as of the BBC year end accounts 2003/2004 BBC America was operated by New Video Channel America, LLC, which BBC Commercial Holdings Ltd owns 100% and declares as a subsiduary.

Haven't paid any attention since I saw those accounts, so maybe the sale to Disney happened since.

Looking through their more recent accounts, they have a partnership with Discovery for distribution of BBC America over their infrastructure, but BBC America is New Video Channel America, LLC, which is 100% owned by BBC Worldwide, which looks like it is 100% owned by BBC Commercial Holdings Ltd.

From all I can tell from the Governors site, its not Discovery that makes the programming decisions.

OK....being pedantic...it's the Discovery Channel. But, yeah, there is no real connection with the BBC - many of the shows are ITV/Ch4/Ch5 output, and way past sell by date.

Think Sirius does OK with Radio 1 (judging by the comments on their community boards). Makes you wonder if "real" BBC1 was relayed whether it might develop an audience. With cable bandwidth increasing they ought to try it...

Well, there are a few decent things on BBC America. The new series of Wire in the blood started on Monday so that's a big plus

But granted, too many repeats of "Crap in the Attic". garden force, etc, etc, etc.

Still, HD would be welcomed as the clarity is just fantastic

NO MORE HOUSE INVADERS! LOL. I agree. The BBC is way, way better than the crap that they put on BBC A. If this channel is the REAL BBC then I would take out a second mortgage to get it!
