Unhappy "Barney Fife" Passes Away aged 81

Actor Don Knotts, who played "Barney Fife" has passed away aged 81.

I saw him on stage, in Kansas City, 2 years ago when he played the lead in "On Golden Pond." He was hilarious!

A Great Loss!

Jim.

Very sad news. I'll never forget his comedic perfomances in films such as "The Ghost and Mr. Chicken", "Shakiest Gun in the West" and "The Incredible Mr. Limpit".

With his thin wiry build and trademark facial expressions, he was the perfect choice for Deputy Barney Fife on the Andy Griffith Show. He ultimately left the show to pursue his film career. He appeared as Mr. Roper on Three's Company as well. And he continued to perform on stage until forced to retire for health reasons.

He will be missed mightily.

My wife loves Andy Griffith and all that other stuff on the TV land channel.
