Default Barclays and US Address

Hi expats,
I am having a bit of a problem, my UK bank is Barclays (I am a premier client but not helping either). I have been in the branch and also on the phone to change my address to an US address.
Not possible, the need an UK address, however in my case I will have nothing in UK from mid Sept onward.

Did you face anything like that?
Do you have any bank that allows you to have an address overseas? I want basically the address for card renewals to be sent overseas.

Cheers!

People have posted before about problems with Barclays. Thank goodness I’m with the Nat West.

I have Bank of Scotland accounts with a US address with no problems.
You will likely have a problem switching if you are now already in the USA.

Yes they do...but you will not be able to open an account with them if you are no longer a UK resident.

First Direct are quite happy for you to change to a US address too. They send out replacement cards with no problems.

Citibank, capital one and HSBC all allowed me to move to a US address. Barclays and Nationwide both required UK addresses. Both Citibank and HSBC have recently asked for w-9 forms

Odd. I have accounts with Barclays, and they were happy to change my account to a US address, and also to send me PINsentry devices here.

I've had no trouble with giving Barclays US address. Had new cards etc sent to me in the last few months too.
Try a different branch.
