bought a decent pair of WAHL rechargeable clippers and zap my head in the shower once a week. Grade 1 all over for that Bruce Willis look

I did go to a local barbers and was actually shocked at how much they charge to just buzz cut. A men's haircut is a men's haircut, regardless of time or effort it seems.

And odd that PA specifically allows 'in home' cutting which is usually prohibited (on sanitary grounds!).

Most states have some bloody funny rules on all sorts of things, and the alcohol rules are all over the shop. Giving alcohol to a minor in NC is illegal under almost all circumstances, among the most restrictive in the country, other states are much more lax, surprisingly so, so just over the state line in SC, pretty much anything goes - on private property - SC allows any adult to give alcohol to a child (not even confined to their own) on private property.

SC was the last state to abolish the law requiring restaurants to serve spirits/liquor only from 2oz mini bottles, thereby effectively mandating that every drink had to be a double.

Pretty sure PA is the same as NC, but not MD or VA - There isn't even a communion wine exemption.

Buying booze laws are weird here.

Not true. It can only be the parent and only in their own home.

Check here, heading 2 - on private property, without parental consent.

Well South Carolina Code of Laws - Title 16, Chapter 4, Article 1, Section 61-4-90, Part C2 states that it's illegal unless: -

(2) parent or guardian over the age of twenty-one giving beer or wine to his children or wards under the age of twenty-one in their home

Code of Laws - Title 61 - Chapter 4 - Beer, Ale, Porter, And Wine

There used to be plenty of ads on tv too explaining this when we lived there.
