Bank account W-9
Hi, I've looked through threads and seen some info re the W-9 form and the 8-WBEN but I just wanted to double check. We are UK citizens, here on L-1A/L2 visas (I have an EAD although am not working and we both have SSN). We opened up bank accounts with Chase back in May. Recently they sent us an 8-WBEN form to fill out. After reading this site, I called them and told them I was pretty sure I shouldn't be filling that out. They agreed and apologised as this was sent out automatically to the database. Instead they've sent us a W-9. Should I be filling this out?

If you are considered a resident for tax purposes, yes.
