Default Bamboo/Woven shades....

Hi guys,

I have a quick question. We are looking to get something like this for one of the windows. http://www.selectblinds.com/bamboobl...oo-shades.html

The window size is 93 x 58. If the size of the shade is going to be > 90, they will charge 70 bucks for freight shipping. So we were thinking of doing 46.5 " x 2 shades for the same window. This will mean 2 separate valances....i.e. no integrated valance.

We are breaking the shade into 2 just so that we can avoid the 70 bucks shipping. The confusion is, would the 2 separate valances look weird?

Thanks for any help.

They have them in lowes and home depot and cut to fit for you no shipping.
Roman blinds they have roller ones in bamboo too
If you do it in two would they line up when you raise them up.

I think that the very fact that you're asking the question tells us what you think the answer is. (Yes, it'll look weird.)

I don't think it would ever look as good as just one, and somewhere down the line you would be wishing you had spent the extra $70. I would try to find somewhere local qnd see if they would match the online price.

It will be weird and just another thing to break.

Get it custom cut locally, any old hardware store will do it, chances are a local indie store would price match as well.

Yes - the valance(s) will look clunky. Plus, due to deductions on the cloth, there will be a gap between the shades --- probably at least a couple of inches. Which is okay if it is a double window but will look really wrong if it is a picture window.
