Default Baggage Allowance - One Way Tickets

Can anyone tell me if the airlines allow extra baggage allowance on one way tickets? I read somewhere a while ago that they did and was wondering what the allowance is.

We are moving to FL in May

Hi kazzuk

I am sorry I don't have the answer to your question, I have wondered that too.

My flight is booked with BA so I looked up there web site, this might be worth doing with the company you are flying with..

All the best in your search kit

You'll almost certainly pay massively more for a one-way ticket than a return. You'll be better off shipping some things and taking the cheapest (return) ticket you can find.

We air-freighted two trunks of things from the UK - each about 14"x18"x30", and a weighing about 50lbs each for about £120, and you should be able to save much more than that by buying return economy tickets.

What company did you ship your stuff with? Everyone I've looked at so far has cost loads more for a tiny box!

I haven't used this company myself as we moved to the US via Singapore. However, this company offers cheap transit of goods from the US-UK and vice-versa.

Allfreight International. They specialize in shipping from London within the M25, but we just picked their name at Random out of the Yellow Pages, so I'm sure that there are many other companies that'll give you a similar rate.

Their service was excellent, I'd recommend them to anyone; and we used them to ship our furniture, clothes, and household stuff too.
