Oh boy!! You have really made me jealous this morning. Much as I love living here, when I see stuff from back home in the eating department, I go in to some weird sort of child mode and long for decent Cadbury's chocolate

Then I start thinking about a roll and square sausage with tattie scone and brown sauce, a chicken supper with curry sauce, a munchie box out of the indian takeaway ......................... okay........................ I'm going for a lie down now to get a grip of myself.

Glad you had a nice time though seeing your family and welcome back!!!

Somehow this statement and your picture don't quite go together

I know thats for me boys, I can honestly say I didn't eat any chocolate when I was there and that stash would long be gone off before I ate it, I'll have 1 or 2 orange revels and that's it. Theres only 2 advent calendars because I wouldn't eat it I just like to have what I cant!

Excellent, made my day! We're off to Blighty in December for Christmas, and plan on taking the extra case to fill with crap (thanks for the heads-up about 30 GBP charge on Virgin...I think it will be worth it!) I would take less chocolate, though, and exchange it for tea bags - I know there's PG Tips and Tetley British Blend, but Sainsbury's Red Label or Yorkshire Tea have the edge!

Now, time to start a list...

Not sure about Virgin but extra luggage is usually a little cheaper if you check in on-line.

I'd like to bring back a suitcase full of bacon the next time I'm there, but the bastards are fussy about that...

Hard cheese isn't a problem. Although it was fun going through security at Manchester Airport with 12 packs of Cheshire cheese in my hand luggage.

They ran my hand luggage through the x-ray machine several times at security. Then said they would have to take it away for further surveillance. It didn't bother me at all...I can only imagine what a dozen shrink wrapped packs of M&S Cheshire cheese must have looked like.

Should've seen the looks I got after going home one christmas and putting a 2 foot wide fruitcake full marzipan and royal iced through the xray machine.

You can get the Terry's Chocolate Orange bars in Publix..... but you might have to remortgage your house to get a couple!
