B1 to L2 spouse visa

B1 to L2 spouse visa
I possess a three year B1 visa. I live with my partner who has a three year L1 visa. We have been here for six months and are looking to get married. Had we been married when my boyfriend received his L1, I would have received an L2 spousal visa. Once we are married can I change my visa status from the current B1 to L2? How easy/difficult would this be? Any help/ideas you can provide would be very much appreciated.
