don't care.

if you don't wanna deal with HOA's, don't buy a house in one.

Depends if you want a new home. In Phoenix, around 85 percent of new homes are HOA. Gilbert (part of Phoenix metro) only issues building permits to developers if there is a HOA planned.

Around here, you'd probably have to pay at least $700k for a house outside of HOA. Got to keep the cheap-o riff-raff in line, you know.

I think its a Mexican Standoff (can you say that here?)

I have reverted to the Union Flag flying above the St George Cross. After a some flustered gentlemen appeared on my doorstep I pointed out to them that there is no where mentioned anything about flying other nations flags without old glory in their covenants so to kindly shove their objections where the sun dont shine (ie New York).

So the upshot is I have my home nations flags flying, they are pissed but cant do anything about it.

Ding ding..end of round 1. Points win for me.

Good job, though I see a rule change on the horizon.
I recommend that you continue your dirt digging in anticipation of the battles ahead.

Actually theres no where in the covenants states the front garden must be a lawn...flower beds are permitted as long as they are tastful and well kept so I'm thinking of digging up my front lawn and turning it into a big flower bed with a st george cross arrangement of flowers measuring 100ft by 80ft.

The HOA are delighted by this:

We just bought a house out in El Mirage (other side of the street is Surprise) & it has a HOA. This will be our first experience of having to deal with them. Wish me luck!!!
